Lenno is hidden deep in a cove, and thanks to its unique position offers a protective and particular aspect of the lake. The lakeside is picturesque, nearby is the church dedicated to Santo Stefano and the Romanesque Baptistery of the late eleventh century.
Very charming is the trip that you can make by boat along the lake shore, reaching the promontory on which stands Villa Balbianello: this villa so special was commissioned by Cardinal Angelo Durini on where already there was a Franciscan monastery, which was subsumed into the building to which was added to the spectacular loggia.
The villa and garden were added by subsequent owners. Currently the villa is open to the public, who can visit the interiors and the well-kept park.
For those who love nature and walking, we remember the complex of the Abbey of Acquafredda, built in 1143, to reach with a nice path that goes through the woods in the mountains behind the village.
