 Mandello del Lario
|
Mandello lies on a peninsula at the foot of Grigne, and offers views of the west bank of the Lecco branch with the Corni diCanzo and the long green ridge, studded with bordering villages, which reaches Bellagio.
In the second half of the nineteenth century arose in Mandello turning and spinning, but since 1921 the name of Mandello is known around the world because here a historic factory of motorcycles has its seat: Moto Guzzi. Today in the factory is a museum where you can admire the motorcycles and many other interesting memorabilia.
In the village is worth visiting the beautiful church of San Lorenzo, early Christian foundation, rebuilt in the ninth century and restored several times over the centuries.
