Paratico's origins are very ancient: it is located in the charming natural landscape of Franciacorta, but with the beautiful scenery of Lake Iseo. The town is quoted before the year 1000, but in medieval times it became a fortified town, thanks to its strategic location: the Lantieri family, lords of the place, built a castle, later demolished, of which some ruins remain.
Thanks to its location and natural setting in which it is located, Paratico has become a popular holiday destination, and appreciated by Italian and foreign tourism. The historic center of the village lies in a hilly area, where stood the castle; among the monuments of interest, we remember the parish church and the small church of San Pietro.
