Two-thirds of Lake Lugano, its western part, are in Switzerland, specifically in the Canton Ticino.
Here the beauty of the scenery of the lake surrounded by mountains joins the modernity of the cities which stood on the lake. The largest city is undoubtedly Lugano, economic and touristic center of the region, but many other towns are worth a visit, both for their architectural beauty and for recreational opportunities they offer.

The eastern part of Lake Lugano is located in Italian territory.
> This is an area still not fully exploited by the tourism industry, however, here you can find modern and comfortable accommodations: the most important town is Porlezza, which is located directly on the lake, but many interesting villages expect to be visited.

Behind the lake, in fact, there are beautiful green valleys, including the Valsolda and Valle Intelvi, immersed in nature and tranquility of the landscape.
