The city of Lugano is in Switzerland, a few kilometers from the border with Italy: this makes it almost a city of Lombardy, both in its architectural shapes and in its culture.
Today Lugano is a popular touristic resort, which has also established worldwide as the international banking center, after Zurich and Geneva. Tourists visiting Lugano find here a neat and clean city, with a beautiful lakeside road where to walk among flower beds. Among the monuments to visit we remind the Cathedral, dedicated to San Lorenzo, on a square overlooking the city. For a nice walk, Parco Ciani is a charming place: around the eponymous Villa Ciani (now the Museum of Fine Arts), that is one of the finest residences of the nineteenth century in Ticino. But Lugano offers many entertainment: cultural events, concerts, parties and fireworks enliven the summer evenings, not forgetting the Casino.
