Agno is a town of about 3,700 inhabitants, located in Switzerland: it is on the most western branch of the lake, not far from Lugano.
Agno is very important for tourism and communications in the area because on the right bank of the river that runs through it, the river Vedeggio, was created the airport of Lugano, which serves the entire area of Ticino. Regular flights connect the airport of Agno with Rome, Geneva and Zurich. Agno is also a lovely city to visit: it is equipped with many structures, especially camping places. It islocated in a favorable position and it was already inhabited during Roman times: some objects and archaeological artifacts from the period are preserved in the local museum. Among the monuments we mention the church of San Giovanni Battista and San Provino, documented as early as 735 AD, and beautiful old buildings in the downtown, including the town hall house, Villa Celestina and Villa San Michele.
