On the waves rippled by the constant breeze of the lake are practiced many sports. The system of constant and opposing winds that characterizes all of the great Alpine lakes, including Lake Maggiore, has facilitated the development and practice of sports such as sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing. But of course on the lake you can travel with other types of boats, like a canoe or kayak, not to mention the motorboats, used also to do water-skiing. And there's more: recently there has been a development of activities related to the torrents, because rafting and kayaking are becoming increasingly popular sport in the valleys that open towards the lake. But these waters are perfect even for a swim, and for the more daring there is the possibility of diving, to discover the lake floor.
