Bardolino is situated in a beautiful creek of the Lake Garda, far from the most crowded and busiest places of the lake. Historic city, it has numerous exhibits that attest the life in the region in Roman times, such as coins, memorial stones, plaques and sculptures, some visible in many parts of the municipal area. Of its ancient remains we remember the Romanesque church of San Severo, to which is added the crypt of the eleventh century, one of the oldest examples of this architectural solution. Coeval is the church of San Zeno, who was part of the feud of the Abbey of San Zeno. But Bardolino is not only the name of a beautiful little town on the shores of the lake: Bardolino is also the name of a wine, whose production is permitted in the province of Verona. There are two types of Bardolino: the Rosso (red wine) and the Chiaretto (rosé wine); these wines are light, soft and gentle, dry taste, slightly bitter, harmonious and with a hint of almond, common to all the wines of the region.
