Baveno is located within the Gulf of the Borromeo Islands, and offers splendid views of the lake.
In the town we find interesting monuments, among which the church of Saints Gervasio and Protaso, which lies in the heart of Baveno, overlooking the square built in the late '500. Also on the lake side of Baveno, by the marina, there is Villa Branca: it was built between 1871 and 1872 by Sir Henfrey who wanted to emulate this style of English Gothic. The villa is surrounded by green and stands out with its great bulk, in the property is also visible a mock ruined castle, built in 1882-1883 in order to mask the view of the new Lido Palace Hotel built in the close Villa Durazzo.
