Menaggio is situated in a beautiful position at the point where begins the valley that goes , through Porlezza, to Lake Lugano and Switzerland.
Thanks to its location easily accessible and very scenic, with views extending over to Bellagio and Varenna and mild climate, is a renowned tourist resort equipped with an excellent organization hotels, golf courses, marina, campground, pool, and a youth hostel. The heart of the village is the historic center, whose specialty is the square on the lake, surrounded by bars and restaurants and the lakeside promenade, shaded by a row of plants, offers lovely views. In the center of the country are the churches of Santa Marta and Santo Stefano, in the hamlet of Loveno, slightly above the village, you can visit Villa Mylius Vigoni, built in the first half of the nineteenth century, now owned by the German state: inside the villa there is a German-Italian cultural center. The villa is surrounded by a beautiful park, where you can admire numerous species of plants, some rare.
