Bellagio is the most popular resort of Lake Como, it is a jewel in landscape and architecture, surrounded by fortifications, characterized by typical soft colors of the houses leaning against each other, the narrow, winding lanes that lead to harmonious squares.
< br> Lakeside are luxurious hotels, elegant shops where you can buy jewelry, clothing and precious silks.
The town offers monuments and art treasures, including the Basilica of Saint James in the upper part of the village, built between 1125 and 1150, but Bellagio has always been a resort for the aristocracy: here were raised magnificent villas. Today you can visit the park of Villa Serbelloni, which extends from the promontory of Bellagio, offering unforgettable views, the park is rich in ancient trees and is embellished dagrotte, sculptures, ruins of medieval walls and, on top of the hill, the ruins of a small church.

Another important villa is the Villa Melzi, built between 1808 and 1810 is one of the best known of the lake, thanks to the fact of entering the bank with its imposing bulk. Today you can visit the beautiful park, where there are trees and exotic, a kiosk, the chapel with the tombs of the family Melzi, Egyptian statues and a pond with water lilies.
